Mobile Air Conditioners

Mobile Air Conditioners

What do you need to know?

So, how do you calculate what size of air conditioner you need?

Providing you do not have south/west facing window(s) or excessive heat generating items in the room, the minimum cooling duty required can generally be calculated by multiplying the room’s cubic metre area by .04 as in the following example:

Room Size: – 6mtrs x 4.5mtrs x 3mtrs = 81 cubic metres.
Calculation: – 81 cubic metres x .04 = estimated minimum cooling requirement of 3.24kW

Monobloc (self contained system for small areas) – SALE OR HIRE

Monoblocs are the most popular type of mobile air conditioner for small offices and home use. They work with an exhaust hose that dissipates the heat in a similar manner to a tumble dryer.

Monoblocs conveniently wheel around from room to room where you need cooling the most, and generally need to be situated near to a window that preferably opens at around hip height.

Split System (for larger areas with access to outside) – SALE OR HIRE

Our ACA15000-SP Split System has a connected remote condenser section that requires hanging out of the window or put onto a balcony up to 2.5 metres away from the main unit. The interconnecting flexible refrigerant pipes are considerably thinner than a monobloc’s air exhaust hose, and consequently the window or door between the 2 sections can be virtually shut. The more sealed a room is, the more effective the air conditioning effect will be.

The Avalanche Self Contained Chilled Water System – SALE OR HIRE

The Avalanche has proved to be a rare and valuable asset to our portfolio. It is special in as much as the indoor unit can be sited up to 30 metres away from its outdoor section which makes it ideal for cooling integral rooms, particularly within hospitals so it seems!

The Avalanche circulates water through a water cooled condenser (built into the indoor unit) where heat is absorbed and then pumped through water lines to the outdoor section (Dry Cooler). The water is then cooled and then pumped back through the flexible lines to the indoor unit and the process starts again.<br>

Whether your application is for a computer suite, offices, hospitals, portable buildings or hospitality the Avalanche delivers 6.7kW cooling all off a standard 13amp supply. With the option of using up to 30 metres of water line it is supremely flexible ensuring it can go into almost any application.

The unit is supplied as standard with 5 metre water lines. Up to 30 metre water lines are available.
